Can you imagine going to the canned vegetable aisle of a grocery store and trying to find a can of green beans- when none of the tin cans are labeled? Certainly labels are important! They tell you what is “inside the can.” Here at GLBC, we are not ashamed of our “labels.” We are not ashamed of who we are or what we believe.

- Baptist - a historic name identified with a set of Bible doctrines held by churches throughout the long history of Christianity.
- Church - an assembly of like-minded believers, organized to carry out the Lord’s Great Commission (Mt. 28:19-20).
We are independent Baptists. This means simply that our church is an independent and autonomous organization. We are not part of a denomination such as the Southern Baptist Convention or the American Baptist Convention. The churches of the New Testament were independent and autonomous churches. There are no denominations or conventions in the New Testament. In fact, conventions are recent inventions – and history has shown them to be full of compromise, liberalism, modernism, and worldliness.
Gospel Light Baptist is also unashamedly a fundamentalist church. Though this term has been abused by a liberal media, it simply means that we take the Bible literally and strive to practice it in our daily lives. The term fundamentalist originally referred to those who believed such cardinal doctrines as the deity of Christ, the inspiration of the Bible, the vicarious death of Christ, the bodily resurrection of Christ, and the literal second coming of Christ. This separated fundamentalists from the liberal theologians of the 20th century.
Fundamental Baptists are also known for taking a strong stand on the preservation of the inspired Scriptures. We believe that the King James Bible is God’s preserved Word in the English language. Fundamental Baptists take God’s Word very seriously and put it into practice. True fundamental Baptist churches are known for their personal soulwinning, mission-emphasis, high standards, personal and ecclesiastical separation, bus ministries, conservative music, strong Bible preaching, and strong Sunday Schools.
Gospel Light Baptist Church stands strong on the Word of God. We are not ashamed to be identified as fundamental Baptists. We are an old-fashioned church, preaching the old gospel and standing for the old-time faith. Our banner is clear.
